Let’s hear the story of Sahid from his beloved mother:
“Shaid’s mother had an early marriage: while she had no idea about married life. The family lived in a remote island of Bangladesh, named Bhola. Days passing by happily in the family activities. After a year, Shaid born with all the cheerfulness to the family. Everyone was very pleased with the baby boy!
All on a sudden, someone noticed that the baby’s feet are bended inside and were anxious. Relatives blamed that the mother did any misdeed, that’s why the newborn is cursed.
The parents of Sahid protested that bravely and went to a Pediatric Surgeon at government District Hospital, Bhola. There they heard about Walk for Life (WFL); a program that provides clubfoot treatment to children under the age of three by the Ponseti Method. The doctor referred them to Walk for Life.
Sahid’s parents got hope of having treatment for their newborn. After few diagnoses, WFL enrolled Sahid into the treatment process.
Now Sahid is free from clubfoot and enjoying a pleasant childhood, reading in primary school and leading his normal life. The parents and relatives were very happy to see Sahid’s changed life!”
