After the casting phase is complete, every child is fitted with a foot abduction brace (FAB) — also called a boots-and-bar brace — to prevent the clubfoot from relapsing.
Wearing Schedule
- First 3 months after casting: worn 23 hours a day
- After 3 months until age 4–5: worn during sleep only (nights and naps)
Compliance with the brace is the single most important factor in preventing relapse. Our physiotherapists and counsellors work closely with families to ensure consistent use.
Local Manufacturing
Walk for Life has developed its own branded brace manufactured locally in Bangladesh, making it affordable and widely available. Each brace is custom-fitted by a trained physiotherapist at the clinic.
